Meal at "Our House"

 

“Our House” is a year-round emergency homeless shelter, dedicated to keeping families together, mostly women and children.  On the first Sunday of every month, Our Lady of the Assumption parish provides an evening meal and fellowship for the residents.

 

If you would like to participate in this dinner, simply select 1 of the 5 items below and send me your choice via email.  Plan to prepare/supply enough of your item to serve 15 people (includes 6 adult and 5 children residents and about 4 or 5 OLA volunteers).  I will send an email response to you, confirming your selection.

Volunteers meet at the shelter at 5:20 PM, so we can start the meal by 5:30 PM.  You are highly encouraged to partake in the meal with the residents, as we partake in good and lively conversation.  Our evening usually concludes about 6:30 PM.

Item 1:  Main entrée

Item 2:  Green salad, assorted dressings and bread

Item 3:  Potatoes

Item 4:  Vegetables

Item 5:  Desert

(Our House Shelter is a small building that sits in the parking lot behind the church.  It also sits just south of the CVS and Smart and Final parking lot, across the street from Pomona Valley Hospital)

 

Directions from OLA to the Our House Shelter:

 

1. Turn right onto W. Bonita Avenue

2. Turn left onto N. Garey Avenue

3. Turn slight right onto N. Park Avenue
