Registration for Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation is not available online.
Registrations for 2026-27 are in person in July 2026
Registration Dates
Open Registration will be held in the OLA auditorium on the following dates. Appointments can be made during this time. People with appointments will be helped first.
Sacramental Preparation
High School (Grades 9-12): Confirmation & First Communion
• Preparation for Confirmation is a two-year process focused on forming a lifelong relationship with Christ.
• The program includes:
• Teens who also need First Communion will prepare for both sacraments during this time.
Registration Fees:
Youth (8-17)
Order of Christian Initiation (OCIC)
Two-year preparation, the fee is $125.00 per year.
Confirmation (High School)
Two-year preparation, the fee is $325.00 per year.
• Teens who also need First Communion will prepare for both sacraments during this time.
• Any registration after the closing date will incur a $30.00 late fee.
• Registration outside of the July 2026 dates will be subject to an additional $10.00 administration fee.
Our Mission
Our mission during the Confirmation Preparation Process is to help prepare the high school-aged youth to receive the sacrament and to deepen their faith and that of the parish community. Confirmation preparation is a process in Christian growth based on the belief that teenagers are at a significant point in their faith journey where they are beginning to establish a personal faith identity. Through sharing their journey and interacting with others, the candidates are assisted in identifying and understanding how God is working in their lives and come to a new realization of faith within the context of the parish community.

Step 4: Submit any necessary documents to the coordinator at the Faith Formation Center.
What is Confirmation?
Confirmation, together with Baptism and Eucharist, form the Sacraments of Initiation that are all intimately connected. In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is “sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit” and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ and welcomed fully into the life of the Church.
Youth Confirmation Process
OLA provides both small and large group gatherings to help teens prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. This model allows for greater session flexibility, meets teens where they are, and allows for great intimacy and real sharing as teens engage with their peers.
Confirmation Candidates meet weekly on Tuesdays or Wednesdays depending on the year they are completing in Confirmation. Class times will be from 6:30 pm- 8 pm. These sessions will have a similar structure where each session begins with an icebreaker or activity followed by a lesson or teaching from a catechist. Once the lesson has been presented and shared, small groups will break out into discussions and activities that will help bring the lesson plan together to build a better understanding. The class concludes with closing announcements and prayer and a take-home assignment for the next class session. Our classes are structured in such a way as to help keep teens engaged and interested in various discussion topics within our Catholic faith. The teens are highly encouraged to interact with other teens regarding discussion topics and questions that will provide a deeper foundation of their Catholic faith.
Commitment & Participation Requirements
To honor the sacredness of these sacraments, all participants in Sacramental Preparation and families are expected to observe the following:
Sunday Mass Attendance (Required for All Participants)
All individuals in sacramental preparation must attend Mass every Sunday.
Children in Grades 2–8 must attend Mass with a parent.
Teen Confirmandi can attend Sunday Mass alone with parental permission.
Parent Commitment
Parents are the primary teachers and examples of the Catholic faith. Parent formation is to support building a rich and vibrant Domestic Church in each home. Sacramental Preparation is a whole-family experience, a time for the whole family to grow in the life of the Church.
Parents of children in grades 2–12 must attend:
Weekly Sunday Mass
One Parent Formation Meeting per month
Additional required events such as:
Rites and rituals
Eucharistic Adoration
Sacrament-specific rehearsals
Parent & Child One-Day Retreat (FHC & OCIC Year 2)
Sacramental Preparation Events
Attendance is expected at all Sacramental Preparation Events , which include spiritual, instructional, and community-building experiences related to the sacraments being received.
