OLA sends 35 missionaries July 4-9

Our faith community is proud to send 35 teens, young adults and chaperones on a Summer Mission Trip to Reno, Nevada, from July 4 through July 9. Our send-off potluck dinner is Sunday, July 3, at 6:30 p.m. in The Junction. Come and bring a dish to share! We will receive regular reports from the missionaries next week.

Prayer for our Missionaries

We pray, O God, that you would inspire our young missionaries and their chaperones to respond to your call to live out their faith. Teach them how to be salt and light in the world by defending human life and caring for the poor and vulnerable among us. When they are weary, give them your strength. Should they become discouraged, remind them that you are always at their side. Send them forth joyfully in your Spirit, bind them together in love, and bring them home safely to their OLA family. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Welcome to Our Lady of the Assumption!

We are a Catholic community of believers, 5,000 families strong, located in the beautiful college town of Claremont, California, in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley. We are a vibrant and diverse faith community, dedicated to Eucharistic worship and a sacramental life, sharing the Gospel, supporting each other and our community through more than 70 ministries and outreach programs, and promoting social justice. We are home to one of the leading K-8 schools in the Los Angeles Archdiocese, as well as thriving Vietnamese and Spanish-speaking faith communities of more than 700 families each. We invite you to visit us, worship with us, and join us as we strive to live out our commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Questions?
