About a year ago, it appeared that OLA did not have the funds to design a new website with professional help. Parishioner Bill Mussatto came to the rescue with an offer we could not refuse... If OLA staff was willing to provide valuable feedback on a new software program, Camberday Consulting would design the new site in conjunction with CyberStraties, Inc., the creator of the software that runs the site. Since then, Bill has been working with Jean McKenna, our Communications Coordiantor, and Mike Nutt, a parishioner with a background in communications, to upload the information and photos that fill our pages. The customized program was designed around ideas developed by a "dream team" of volunteers with knowledge about technology, notably Thanh Nguyen and Phil Schmidt. It was a bit of struggle working out the kinks, and gathering together in one place for the first time everything about everything at OLA. It's still a work in progress... which is why we would appreciate YOUR feedback!
Enjoy exploring all the nooks and crannie on the website. If you get lost, you can always refer to the Site Map. OLA's site will be uniquely its own, drawing on the archive of photographs and information printed in our parish bulletin. The bulletin itself will be available for early viewing on the Wednesday before the weekend it is distributed. A bulletin archive will give you easy access to previous bulletins, in case you missed one. "Catholic Links" opens a world of information at your fingertips, and our Teen section has a link to Facebook. The interactive features of this site will expland in time, including the debut of Online Giving in December. The OLA website will always be a work in progress, reflecting the ever-changing and growing community it serves.
