Expo of Outreach Ministries May 28

Responding to Pope Francis who challenges us to hear “the cry of the poor and the cry of the earth,” OLA will host an exposition of outreach ministries and organizations on Sunday, May 28, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium. This exciting, first-time event will bring together multiple groups from OLA and the local community which engage volunteers to serve the poor and promote the care of the environment. These include St. Vincent De Paul Society, Stephen Ministry, Crossroads Inc., Fair Trade Ministry, Uncommon Good, Jeff Domond Foundation for Haiti, Get On the Bus, Immigration Rights Team, Knights of Columbus, Just Act & Just Faith, Sustainable Claremont, Sierra Club, Catholic Relief Services, East San Gabriel Valley Coalition for the Homeless, Inland Valley Hope Partners, Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and more. The inspiration for this event comes from the acclaimed book by Pope Francis, Laudato Si On Care of Our Common Home – which has been the topic of study groups and workshops at OLA.

Informal Sunday veterans' gathering

Several U.S. Veteran parishioners gather for coffee (and to hear or tell stories) in the auditorium Sunday mornings between 8 and 11 a.m. All are welcome! Bring photos, scrapbooks, memories or anything others might find interesting. This is not a formal gettogether, just coffee and interesting conversation. If you come on scheduled USO collection days (the second Sunday of the month) be sure to bring something for the donation box.
